“1,000 mg of Tongkat Ali” sounds impressive. It also isn't quite what's on most labels — here's what's actually going on.
A “100:1 extract” means 100 units of raw root were concentrated down into 1 unit of extract. So 10 mg of a 100:1 Tongkat Ali extract is roughly equivalent to 1,000 mg of raw root — the math behind the marketing claim.
Presenting the number as “1,000 mg” without the extract-ratio context can make a product sound far more potent than a straightforward “10 mg of 100:1 extract” label entry would.
When comparing supplements, look for both the milligram amount and the extract ratio. That combination tells you far more than either number alone — and it's exactly what's printed on the HorseWood label.
